Ultra-Low-Density Drilling Fluids for Low-Pressure Coefficient Formations: Synergistic Effects of Surfactants and Hollow Glass Microspheres

چکیده
With the increase in drilling fluid density requirements low-pressure coefficient formations, traditional hollow bead fluids and foam each have different degrees of deficiencies. Through extensive indoor experiments, an amphoteric surfactant (cocoamidopropyl betaine) with better foaming performance was selected to formulate ultra-low-density that combines a agent glass microbeads reduce fluid, following specific formulation: 3% bentonite slurry + 0.3% xanthan gum 0.5% carboxymethyl cellulose starch 2% lignite resin blocking 4% microspheres nano agent. The system evaluated, results showed that: did not change much before after aging at 80 °C relatively stable; filter loss amount (tested by API) reached 4.6 mL, which meets for fluid; it can bear pressure 12 MPa under 60–90-mesh sand bed has sealing capability than microbead fluid.

15 صفحه اولCharacterization of Microbubble-Based Drilling Fluids: Investigating the Role of Surfactants and Polymers
Colloidal Gas Aphrons (CGA), consist of gas bubbles with diameters ranging from 10 to 100 micron, surrounded by a thin aqueous surfactant film. This fluid combines certain surfactants and polymers to create the systems of microbubbles. The function of surfactant in CGAs is to produce the surface tension to contain the aphrons. Also, a biopolymer needs to be considered in the formulation as ...

The synergistic effect of two fire retardants, a Si-Al compound and chlorinated paraffin, was tested on ultra-low density fiberboards (ULDFs). To further understand the mechanism of fire retardancy, morphologies of unburned and burned ULDFs were studied using a scanning electron microscope with energy dispersive spectroscopy. It was found that as the volume of the burned ULDFs shrank, some crev...

Microlithographic systems rely on precision alignment and a high-level of dimensional stability to achieve required performance. In critical applications, immunity to thermally induced dimensional changes is achieved by the use of low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) materials such as ULE® in components such as reflective optics and machine structures. ULE® has an expansion coefficient (α...
